Getting started with a network marketing company
while you’re a student is a great decision. The economy has changed a lot over
the past 10–15 years. Employers are hiring less full time employees and more
part-timers, so they don’t have to pay benefits. Becoming a network marketing business owner
can alleviate the headache and uncertainty of working for someone else. Keep in mind though that you must have an
entrepreneurial spirit and mindset. The
network marketing business model is not for everyone. However, if you like the idea of owning your
own business and growing that business at your own pace, then network marketing
might be a great choice for you. Start
up costs are usually low and within the price range of a college student.
Here are a few things to consider when choosing a
network marketing company to partner with:
1. The product or service being
offered - Is it unique and/or patented or have other
companies already cornered the market?
2. Is the product consumable? – It’s
difficult to sustain a customer base when the product is not consumable. Jewelry and art are two good examples of
this. After a while a customer simply
does not need to purchase anymore of these items. That is why the health and wellness industry
is booming. The products are consumed
and need to be replenished, usually on a monthly basis.
3. Timing
– Is the company still in the growth or momentum phase? For example, although great companies, you
wouldn’t want to join Amway or Herbalife now.
They are legacy companies and have already peaked in terms of saturation
of distributors in the marketplace.
4. Compensation Plan
– It is a business after all, so you have to choose a company with a great
compensation plan that meets your financial needs and goals.
5.
Training
and Support – Does the company you’re considering
offer free training and upline support?
The culture of the company you partner with plays a very important role
in the success of its distributors.
